Last 21th October, the firt practical workshop of the on-line course HERBARTIS in Spain, was held in the facilities of IRTA, in Monells (Girona): Sensory Analysis on aromatic plants.
During the seminar different aspects were treated:
- Introduction to the sensory analysis.
- Practical application: discriminating testing.
- Practical application: development of sensory profiles for herbal teas.
In the discriminating testing, attendants could distinguish the presence of sugar in different prepared herbal teas. And in the second practical application, they could learn how to do a sensory analysis as a quality test by observing the dry herbal mix, the moist herbal mix and the liquor.
